Sorry I haven't really updated, I've been really busy.
Baby Serena arrived 6 days ago on the 12th! I'm so excited because my birthday is on September 12th so we share a day, if not a month.
I was having some complications towards the end of my pregnancy, my blood pressure was extremely high. I went to the doctor the monday before I had her and she sent me to labor and delivery to possibly have a c section or to be induced. They decided to wait to try to get her to 39 weeks. I kept having problems with swelling and blood pressure but I went into natural labor at about 2 am Friday morning. I went to the hospital after having contractions two minutes apart for an hour but they stopped. I was so upset and overwhelmed, the doctor offered to restart labor for me and I could have kissed her for it. It was wonderful to be able to make the decision for myself. I was 38 weeks 2 days, and I decided it would be the best thing for both of us.
It was a long day, the first part of my labor was a dream. The end was really difficult and bad, I got to the point where I didn't think I was physically able to do it but somehow I did. I feel so proud of myself for doing what seemed impossible. She was born 12 days early, at 6 pounds 15 ounces and 20 inches (just short of 7 pounds!)
She is the most wonderful, beautiful thing in the world. I absolutely adore her and motherhood. When she was born she had the most beautiful, full red lips and it immediately reminded me of a rose. She completes me, my little rosebud.
